Cool your Jets It ain’t that time yet 24 hours won’t go any quicker With you pacing and getting upset And when you get home Misfit, restless, and alone Even if you won’t admit it There ain’t no place you feel at home So Cool Your Jets Pour the Tanqueray and just sit tonight’s the only time We ain’t that and we ain’t them Eddie’s been on the phone all night with his wife She said she’d leave if he didn’t quit the life He was crying and begging her to stay But the moment he sets his bags down He’ll get that itch to get away So Cool your Jets It ain't that time yet 24 hours won’t go any quicker With you pacing and getting upset Cool your jets

I’m just a ghost walking down the street Night siren’s flashing, they don’t they stop for me People walking by, they don’t notice anything ‘Cause I’m fading, can’t you see? I’m just a shadow, since you and me I’m just a ghost walking down the street I’m just a ghost walking down the street Night people roaming, all the clubs are swinging And the marquees are all shining But they can’t find me, don’t you see? I’m just a shadow, since you and me I’m just a ghost walking down the street

Swimming in the river The sun felt like gold dreaming Everything fluttered away Like disappearing burned out buildings It was like a movie in the sun The sounds of the city fading The birds above us floating In the river we were gold dreaming It was like a movie in the sun The sounds of the city fading Everything fluttered away Like disappearing burned out buildings

Sirens in the night Sirens and flashing lights The city life I was heading to see my folks Stopped at their old grocery store In line I saw a girl I used to know Nine in the morning half gallon of vodka, diapers, and a carton of smokes So washed out and hollow Sirens in the night From my old room all night Sirens and Flashing Lights My folk’s car's been stolen twice A stray bullet hole in the picture window There was a killing up at the Hi-Lite Gunshots in the night Somebody’s life Don’t they see it’s somebody’s life Sirens in the Night Sirens and flashing lights The city life Sirens in the night Sirens and flashing lights Oh the city life

about

Summer 2015
Amy was in town for our summer shows, and we decided to cut a single to take with us on the fall tour. We have a full length album brewing so we wanted to keep it simple, maybe three songs max. Willy kept bringing in new tunes to rehearsal so we could decide which ones to record. The band was loving most of them and John had a little time open at his Scenic Burrows Studio. Our single was already morphing into an EP when we heard a demo Amy did on her phone. We got her to play the song again with some fancy mics in front of her so we could put it on the record. Then Willy played us this Sparklehorse tune at Cory's while we were drinking wine, and we decided to cover it as well. All of a sudden we had a bunch of tunes on our single, this sort of rules out 45 rpm. CDs can handle it though so here's The Delines' version of summer camp, the nearly full length single. Enjoy.
